Paulora – Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 September 2026
Paulora is a voice companion that helps you start tasks. This policy explains what
data the app touches, where it goes, and what never leaves your phone. The short
version: no account, no ads, no selling data, and your history stays on your
device.
What stays on your phone
- Your task history ("Done pile"), paused tasks, parked thoughts, your name (if you
gave one), and settings are stored only in the app's local storage on your device.
We have no server copy. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
- Speech recognition (turning your voice into text) is performed on your device by
Android's built-in speech recognizer. Paulora does not record or store audio.
What is sent off your phone, and why
- Task text and session messages are sent over an encrypted
connection to our server proxy and passed to Anthropic (the AI provider) to
generate step breakdowns and spoken replies. This text is processed to produce
the response and is subject to
Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Paulora's reply text is sent to ElevenLabs to generate her voice
audio, subject to ElevenLabs' privacy
policy.
- Feedback you choose to send from the "Tell me what you think" box in
Settings is emailed to the developer, together with the app's build number, whether
you are on Paulora Plus, and which platform you are using. Nothing else is attached:
no name, no email address, and nothing from your tasks or history. This is the one
thing you write that we do keep a copy of, because a message addressed to a person
has to reach that person – it is read to fix the app and is not used for anything
else. Sending it is entirely your choice; the app never sends feedback on its own.
- None of these transmissions includes your name in any account sense, your contacts,
your location, or any advertising identifier. We do not build profiles.
What we don't do
- No user accounts, sign-ins, or passwords.
- No advertising, no ad SDKs, no trackers, no analytics SDKs in the app.
- No selling or sharing of personal data with third parties beyond the AI
processing described above.
Permissions the app asks for
- Microphone – only when you tap the Talk/Speak button, to hear
your task or reply. Processed on-device.
- Notifications – optional, to remind you of parked thoughts after
you leave the app.
- Alarms & reminders – optional, so those reminders arrive on
time rather than being delayed by Android's battery batching.
A note on wellbeing
Paulora is a small productivity tool, not a medical or mental-health service. If the
app detects words suggesting you might be in crisis, it stops task planning and shows
contact details for real human helplines. That detection happens in the app; those
moments are treated with the same privacy as everything else.
Children
Paulora is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data
from them.
